Just Do It lifts the lid on climate activism and the daring troublemakers who have crossed the line to become modern-day outlaws. Documented over a year, Emily James' film follows these activists as they blockade factories, attack coal power stations and glue themselves to the trading floors of international banks despite the very real threat of arrest.

Wanted: Nationwide screenings day coordinator!

WANTED: Nationwide university screening day coordinator
To start 15th August for 10 weeks
There is a small wage available for this role

We’re delighted that thanks to a generous grant we’re able to offer an extremely rare paid position here at JDI HQ!

As part of our open source distribution model we’ll be coordinating a Just Do It Nationwide Screening Day on Tuesday 18th October 2011. Groups at universities and sixth-form colleges across the country will show the film en masse for free. Screenings will be open to the public. This is a great opportunity to ensure that students and the local public get a chance to see the film with the full cinematic experience and get plugged in straight away to the local student groups working on the issues. At Just Do It HQ, our goal is have as many new people see the film in this single day as had over the course of the entire theatrical release.

About you
You’ll be a recent graduate with experience working with student groups and organising events. We’re looking for someone with a can-do attitude, a motivated and ambitious person looking for a project to make their own.

The role
As the Just Do It university screenings day coordinator you will:

  • Link with student groups across the country to find local student champions to coordinate screenings and corresponding events.
  • Liaise with student champions to support and oversee the planning of their screenings and events.
  • Coordinate schedule and travel of Just Do It cast, crew and outreach partners to take part in discussion panels and post screening events in person and via video link.
  • Lead print, online, TV and social media campaign around the National Student Screening Day festivities

Partner Organisations:
People and Planet
Student Hubs
UKYCC
SPEAK Network

Universities we’re already working with:
Cambridge
Oxford
Kingston University
Unversity of Manchester
Sheffield University
University of Worchester
University of Reading
University of Edinburgh
University College London
Durham University
Stirling University
University of Aberdeen

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in film, events and campaigning, and get their foot in the door working with a professional team.

This is a full time position, and you will be working out of our offices in Aldgate East.

Please send your CV and a brief paragraph about why you’re right for the role to Laura at [email protected]
