Our aim is for one million people to see the film in the year after it is released. With this in mind, and with our extensive cinema release in full swing, we’re looking for the final translation checker to make sure our translation is tip top, and matches the English meaning. We’ve had a fantastic response to our translators callout and we’re very glad to now be translating the film into 11 languages! We want to make sure as many people as possible – the world over – get to enjoy it.
We are urgently looking for a checker for Mandarin (simplified) to make sure the translation is tip-top.
Checking will take 1 day at ITFC subtitling facilities in Hounslow. The Mandarin checking has already been started so this would only be one day’s work.
ITFC have a proven track record so this is a great opportunity to meet them and see how they work – perfect if you’re looking to get into foreign language translation. You must be London-based or nearby. This is a voluntary position, but we can cover your expenses and you’ll receive a copy of the DVD.
If you can help, please email Laura at [email protected] with a brief explanation of why you’re the person for the job. Thanks!
Hello,
I speak and write fluent spanish, I’ve done simultaneous translation into English as a volunteer at the UNFCCC, but I’m not a pro. I’m just getting in touch because I’ve seen you’ve posted requests a number of times and might be short on numbers. I’m sure that working with a few other people I can contribute some knowledgee to get the translation right.
I am not London based, but I am willing to come down for the 1 day checking if needed.
All the best,
Isobel
