Finally, at long last we are very pleased to announce that as of 26TH JUNE Just Do It will be available digitally!
Not only will you be able to stream or download your favourite direct action doc direct from our website, but you’ll also be able to get the film FOR FREE under a Creative Commons license via our friends over at VODO.
We’re particularly pleased to finally be releasing a Creative Commons copy of the film, as that has been a central plank in the politics of the whole project since the beginning. The realities of releasing a film in a world still so dominated by the institutions of raw capitalism have forced us to take care of ‘other business’ first, and it’s been a long and winding road of cinemas, film festivals, television broadcasts and community screenings but we’re delighted to have reached the digital avenue at long last!
We’d like to say a huge thank you to all of you who’ve supported us along the way. We can’t say it often enough, as neither the film nor it’s journey would have been possible without your help.
But we’re not done yet! Oh no! In fact, this is the biggest step yet for us. All those packed cinema screenings, international festivals, and intimate community events were all about building our base, raising awareness, and connecting with you, our core audience. Now we need your help to reach out to the next tier: the people who you know who should see this film, whose lives will be enriched by watching it, who need to hear the message, or who you think it will simply tickle.
Post the link to this blog on your Facebook & Twitter, email your friends, and post on lists.
We’re counting on you to help us get the word out, and make this the biggest phase yet of our release. With your help we can prove that people power can pack a bigger punch then what you can buy with mere pounds and pennies.
Plus, it has been a while since most of you had the chance to see the film, so maybe it’s about time to enjoy a second viewing!
And if you and your friends do watch the film for free – that’s fantastic! – and why not chip in with a donation to help keep the good ship JDI afloat so many others can see it too?
